Three Special Reports
The final part of the article describes three special reports in 2025. There is one each from the major evening news bulletins on TV Asahi (Broadcast Station, 11 August), Nippon Television (News Zero, 13 August), and TBS (News 23, 15 August). These were all available as the article went to press on 30 September 2026, and I hope they remain available because they are sensitive, conscientious reflections on war responsibility that depict clearly the horrors of war.
Broadcast Station, 11 August 2025, massacres in Malaysia and Singapore
News Zero, 13 August 2025, manufacture of poison gas on Okunoshima
News 23, 15 August 2025, conscription of indigenous people in Taiwan as Japanese soldiers
